Under 12: Newport Arrows footballers fought back from a deficit of 7 points with two minutes left in ordinary time to defeat Ballina in extra time on a score line of 6.06 to 4.07. Great team performance and a place in the North final.
Well done to Newport Colts Footballers who are also in a North final having won the semi-final on a score line of Newport Colts 2.01 to Shannon Rovers 1.03.

Scór All Ireland Finalists: Best wishes to our Ballad Group, Leiriu and Instrumental groups as they represent, Club, County, and Province in the All-Ireland Final of Scór on Saturday. The Tipperary teams along with local groups entertained a large crowd in Newport last Sunday night in a spectacular display of rich talent. It was a fantastic concert. Much credit is due to Anthony Floyd for organising the event. We wish all the Tipperary competitors the best of luck.

Senior Hurling: Our senior hurlers got off to winning start in the County championship last weekend. Final score in Dundrum Tulach Sheasta 3-14 Ballingarry 0.11. We wish them the very best of luck in the North championship this Sunday in Dolla V Kiladangan. Throw in 7pm. Your support will be greatly appreciated.

Congratulations to our most recent Lotto jackpot winner, Sandra Mc Evoy, Murroe. Tickets €2 each or three for €5.

Thank You: To all who supported and helped in our recent fundraising events for Scór and to Richard Ryan for hosting post-match BBQ, Mary Jo O’Sullivan for hosting Poker Classic and Newport Community Centre where our concert was held. To all who helped in Lacken Park last Sunday, Míle Buíochas .

Sympathies: We extend our deepest sympathy to the Carew Family, Shower, the Guilfoyle family Foildarrig and the Sweeney Family Main St. who were recently bereaved. Ar dheis lámh Dé go raibh a anamacha.
