Poker Classic.
Well done to all the people who took part in our poker classic in the Freigh Inn on Sunday last. With over 50 taking part, this will be a regular fixture in the calender year. Many thanks to all who helped out and to Mary Jo for the use of the Freigh.
  • Our under 10 footballers had a great win in their Community Games Football competition v Inane Rovers. They now switch to Community Games Hurling with a home game v Toomevara this Tuesday evening May 5th.
  • The North Tipp  Football Championship is entering the final stages this week with the club still involved in all grades. Our Under 12 footballers had two teams entered in the competition this year. Our Newport Gaels team have a semi final this Tuesday evening May 5th v Burgess, following their quarter final win over Borrisokane last week. Our Mulcair Rovers team bowed out of the competition at the semi final stage last Friday evening with Inane Rovers eventually getting the better of our lads after a superb performance by both teams.
  • Our under 14 Footballers drew their game v Ballina last Friday evening and have their two final group matches this week. First up is Kildangan this Wednesday evening May 6th in Lacken Park @ 6:30. They final group game is away to Silvermines with a date yet to be confirmed at time of going to press.
  • Our under 16 Footballers are in the North Final this Tuesday evening May 5th v Moneygall / Clonakenny in Nenagh.
  • Our Minor Footballers are also playing their North Final this Wednesday evening May 6th v Kildangan in Dolla @ 7:00 PM
Inter Hurling
Our hurlers overcame neighbours Ballinahinch in a close encounter in Dolla last Saturday. We emerged victorious by 4 points, thanks to the efforts of Sean O Brien in the second half. Next up we play Drom/Inch in Templederry on Sat evening and this is a game that will let us know where we are at in terms of standard required.
Junior Hurling
The junior hurlers lost out to Moneygall on Friday last, so with one more group game to play we are guaranteed at least a quarter final spot.
There was no winner of our jackpot, so it now stands at €4100.
The club would like to wish all its players doing college exams the best of luck in the coming week.
A reminder to all players that registration is now due, no pay no play
