Juveniles
  • Our under  9’s entered  two teams in the County Hurling blitz in Dr Morris Park, Thurles last Saturday morning with both teams playing 3 matches.  
  • Our Under 10’s took part in a Hurling Blitz last Thursday evening v Ballina & Murroe in Lacken Park. It was a great evening’s hurling with all clubs entering two teams and with over 60 children taking part.
  • Both of our Under 12 Hurling teams recorded victories in their North Hurling quarter finals last Friday evening in Lacken Park with a large home crowd to support both teams.  First up was our Mulcair Rovers team who defeated Portroe by 0-04 to 0-03 in Group D in a very exciting & tense match. Next in was the turn of our Newport Gales team who played magnificent hurling in defeating  Kilruane on a score of 2-06 to 1-02 in Group B. Both of our under 12 teams have away semi finals this weekend with Newport Gaels playing Moneygall & our Mulcair Rovers team playing Nenagh.
  • Our under 14 hurlers played Holycross / Ballycahill last Saturday evening in a challenge in preparation for the North Semi Final next week. They put in a good hours work and won on a scoreline of 4-16 to 6-04
  • Our under 16 hurlers play Ballina next Monday evening August 10th in Lacken Park @ 7:00 PM in a game they must win to stay in the championship.
Minor
Our Minor Hurlers played  Nenagh Eire Og last Wednesday evening and play their final group match v Borris-lleigh in Nenagh this  Wednesday evening August 5th @ 7:00 PM.

Summer Camp
Cul Camp is on next week from Monday August 10th to Friday August 14th from 10:00AM to 2:30 PM each day. With over 180 children registered it promises to be a great success.

Bus to Croke Park
The Juvenile Club are running a bus to The All Ireland Hurling semi final on August 16th for our under 12 to 16 age group’s. All under 12’s must be accompanied by an adult. The cost is € 40.00 per adult & € 10.00 per child. If interested please contact Tom Mulryan on 087 7988115. Places are limited and are on a first come first served basis.

North Final.
On Sunday last our intermediate hurlers played out a draw against Ballinahinch in a very tense encounter. The long layoff between matches was very evident as Newport were very slow to get going. Date for the replay has not been confirmed.

Junior Hurling
Our junior hurlers will play Moneygall in the last group match on Saturday evening in Moneygall so please come out and support the team.
