Juvenile Teams
Our Under 10's are playing Roscrea in the 1st round of the Community Games football competition this Thursday evening in Lacken Park @ 7:00 PM.
Under 12's : Both of our football teams had a busy week with 2 games each v Kildangan & Templederry. Our Newport Gaels team were beaten by Kildangan and beat Templederry in their final group game. Our Mulcair Rovers team had a good win v Kildangan and lost their last game to Templederry. The Mulcair Rovers team have now qualified for the North Semi Final which is due to be played on the weekend of May 2nd.
Under 14's : Had a busy week. First up the footballers got their season off to a great start with a win over Portroe in Lacken Park on Wednesday evening. On Saturday the hurlers played the Silvermines in The Feile B Hurling North Final in Borrisoleigh. In a pulsating game they lost out by a single point. Well done to all the players who made a hugh effort and never gave up during the game. The under 14's have no match this week.

Under 16's :Our Footballers made it 3 wins out of 3 games with a good win over Kildangan in their last outing and are due to play Burgess away in their final group match this Thursday evening.

Minors: Our Footballers have qualified for the North semi final v Ballina this Wednesday evening in Lacken Park @ 7:00 PM following their win over Portroe last week. Last Thursday they defeated Portroe in a hard fought battle and in the first round they defeated Nenagh.
Well done to Jack Delahunty who scored 1:02 for the Tipperary Minor Footballers in their win over Waterford in last week.

All Ireland Scor Final
Best of luck to our two groups that are competing in the All Ireland Final of Senior Scor in the City West Hotel, Dublin on Saturday next. The members of the Instrumental Music Group are Aine O'Malley, Ruairi Floyd, Niamh Floyd, Louise Ryan and Brian McAuliffe and the members of the Ballad Group are Teresa Nolan, Fiona Ryan, Marie Floyd, Lorna Floyd and Conor Floyd. We hope ye will bring home the winning medals. In preparation for this event we held a "Scor Concert" in Birdhill Hall last Saturday night where our two All Ireland Finalist Groups were joined by the other two All Ireland Finalists from Tipperary Noel Joyce (JK Brackens) and Ella Stapleton (Upperchurch Drombane). They were ably supported by other Scor acts from the parish that had represented Newport at County Final stage this. It turned out to be a great nights entertainment for the large crowd that attended. Best wishes to all the Tipperary acts in the Final.
Poker Classic.
Newport GAA are holding a Poker Classic in Sullivans Bar on Sunday 3th May at 6pm.Entry is 20 euro and it is straight 5 card poker classic .Tickets can be bought from any committee member or bought on the night
There was no winner of the jackpot which will now be €3900 next week.
Junior Hurlers.
Our juniors recorded a one point victory over Nenagh on Sunday eve last in the North League. Training continues on Tuesday and Thursday.
Well done to Tipp U21 and Minor footballers who had great success recently winning an All Ireland semi and Munster championship game respectively. Special congrats to Jack Delahunty who scored 1-2 in the minor game. Hard luck to Tipp senior hurlers who lost to Waterford on Sunday last.
