Juvenile Club
  • Our annual Duck Race takes place this Friday Sept 4th at the Bridge in Newport. Ducks can now be purchased from any committee member or team manager costing € 5.00 each. Prizes include 2 All Ireland Hurling Final Tickets and a signed Tipperary jersey. Your support would be really appreciated.
  • Our under 13 Hurlers play Nenagh in the first round of the The North Tipp Plate Competition which commences this week. They also travel to Adare this Saturday to take part in their tournament. 
  • Our Under 16 Hurlers were away to Borrisokane in their North Tipp Hurling Semi Final onMonday evening. They lost narrowly on a 3-12 to 3-10 scoreline. 
  • Our Minor hurlers, Newport Gaels, will meet Toomevara in the Semi Final of the North Championship in Dolla at 6pm on Wednesday the 9th of September.   Best of luck to our panel member Davy Gleeson and the rest of the Tipp Minor Hurling squad in the All Ireland Final against Galway next Sunday 
  • Well done to Jack Delahunty who is on the Tipp Minor Football Squad that have qualified for the All Ireland Football Final after a great win over Kildare last Sunday.   Well done also to Niall Fitzgerald, a new club member, who had the role of  selector with the management team.
  • Kealan Floyd and Cian Flanagan were vital members  of the Tipp U17 squad that lost out to Cork in the Final of the Eugene Carey Tournament held in Mallow last week end.They had good wins over Clare and Kilkenny in the Group stages.

North Intermediate Final. 
Our intermediate hurlers were crowned North champions on Friday evening last in Templederry following a narrow 3 point victory over neighbours Ballinahinch. We now await our opponents in the Co. Quarter Final which is due to be played on weekend of Sept 19/20th. (see paper for full match report).
The club would like to thank Richard Ryan and staff and also chef Danny Foley for their food and hospitality following the victory.
