Minor Hurling.
Pride of place this week goes to our fantastic minor hurlers who won the North 'A' title on Saturday last. Newport's last victory in this grade was 1926 when the great Jimmy 'Butler' Coffey was part of the team. This was a fantastic team performance and we were severely under pressure early in the second half. At one stage we were 4 points behind. The character of this team came through in the last 15 mins with some inspirational scores. Well done to the team and all the management. (See match report on this site)
We play Clonoulty-Rossmore in the county semi final this Wed evening in Kilcommon at 6.30pm.

All Ireland.
What a game we witnessed in Croke Park on Sunday last. It was great to see so many Newport people making the effort to attend. Sat 27th is the date for the replay.

Inter Hurling.
Check local media details to see if North Intermediate final is going ahead on Sunday next in Dolla.

College.
Best wishes to all our members who will start their college careers this week and to all those getting their junior cert results good luck
