Paddy's Weekend.
The club will run a social event on Sunday 16th in O'Sullivans Freigh Inn to mark our national holiday. Doors opening at 9.30pm. Admission is €5 and music will be provided by the O Meara's and Tom Keogh. A special draw will take place on the night for all those that bought tickets in the National GAA draw, €500 in prizes to be won on the night.

Under 21.
Our U21 Gaels continued their winning ways last Sat with a comfortable win over Portroe, coming out on the better side of 5-6 to 6pts. This was a great performance by all 19 players used, but great to see Liam Duffy back to his best form - his runs through the centre caused all sorts of problems for the Portroe defence.

Scór na bPáistí.
The club hosted one of the area finals recently. It was a good night for the club with acts qualifying for north final in figure dancing, solo song, recitation, ballad group, sean nós dancing, question time, novelty act and set dancing. At the North Final only our ballad group was successful and go on to the County Final on Sunday 9th. Newport GAA were awarded club of the year in Scor na bPaisti to add to title for club of the year in Scor na nÓg.

Scór Encore.
Well done to our Scor na nÓg instrumental musicians who gave a great performance in winning their first round on the TG4 programme Scor Encore which airs on Sunday nights. They now progress to the semi final which will be screened shortly.
