Minor Newport Gaels minor hurlers must await the outcome of the Klidangan/Roscrea game to know their fate for definite in this year's championship. The odds are stacked against Newport following our lack lustre performance against Toomevara last week. Should Roscrea win or draw we are out, should Kildangan win there is a mathematical chance that we could qualify. All will be known on this Weds night. Aside from the hurling we have the football County Semi to look forward to against opposition from the South. It's a pity it has become so disjointed as our preparation going into the semi will not be ideal having played our hurling championship in the middle. Nevertheless Newport will give it a good try! Under 16 Our U16's had another good win at home last Friday evening against a Borrisokane side that needed to win. This means that we are now in the quarter final with an outside chance of being in the semi direct depending on other results this week. County Reps Congratulations go to Kealan Floyd, Jack Delahunty & Cian Flanagan who have made the County U15 'A' side and to Daniel Carew who has made the U16'B' side. Great to see Tulach Sheasta County participation continuing in the recent footsteps of Conor O Mahoney & Sean O Brien. Well done boys! |
