Under 16
The curtain finally came down on a huge season for our U16's on Sat last in Nenagh when we played out the North Final v Kilruane. Newport simply never got going and had no answer to the stronger Kilruane side. Nevertheless, Newport will look back on the season with great satisfaction having already won the U16A football and reached the U16A Hurling final. We were also thrilled to have several players involved on U15 & U16 county teams in both codes. The future is bright as 12 of this year's side are underage again next season for U16 competitions. Congrats to Kilruane and best of luck in the Co-Semi.

 Intermediate
Our intermediate hurlers were also in action on Sun last when they met Moyne/Templetuohey in the semi final of the County Champioship at The Ragg. Assisted by the wind in the first half, Newport went in three points ahead. Unfortunately for Newport Moyne rose to the occasion and to our misfortune they won the game by a single point. Our neighbours Ballina will now meet Moyne in the Co semi. Well done to Newport on what was a long protracted season and they can look back on huge progress achieved during the year.

 A night at The Dogs
The financial sub committee have put together a very attractive evening's entertainment on Friday Nov 1st when we will hold a Night at The Dogs at The  Limerick Greyhound Stadium. General admission will be €10 per adult with Juveniles going free. Nominator tickets are also on sale where you can buy a dog for the night for €50 which includes two adults admission. Should your dog win one of the 12 races on the night, your ticket will then be entered in a special draw at the end of the night with a cash prize of €200 accompanied with dinner for two. This should be a great night for all the family.
