Our U10 hurlers were well beaten by a much stronger Kilruane team last week in the Community Games competition. Nevertheless our boys performed very well in what was their first competitive outing.

Under 14
Newport Gaels U14 footballers have qualified for the North B semi-final, thanks to 3 fine performances in the group stages. The semi date is not known yet but is imminent.

Under 16
Our U16 footballers won the North A final with distinction as they powered past Kilruane on a scoreline of 2-8 to 3 points. This was a fantastic performance with a man of the match display from Brendan Tormey at midfield. Newport drove on in the second half against a strong wind and the result was never in doubt. Well done to all including the Ballinahinch input from their players and coach Cormac McGrath. We now await the winners of the West Division in the Co Semi which will take place after the exams.

The minors travel to Portroe on Thurs evening to take on Ballina in the Nth B Football final. This should be a great game as they have already played each other in the group stages. We have a great chance here of bringing home a third North football cup following the success of our U16 & U21's recently.

Junior Hurling
Our Junior B hurlers put in a solid performance last week when they beat Kildangan 2-15 to 2-4 in Rd 2 of the league. Best for Newport were Richard Shinners, Christy Connors, Conor Keating & Mark Maguire. They have yet to play Nengh & Silvermines in the final 2 rounds.

Intermediate Hurling
The Intermediate hurlers will next play on 29th May in Holycross when they meet Cahir in Rd 2 of the new County League. Spirits are high after the recent big win ove Gortnahoe.

Coaching Plan.
The new coachig plan will be presented to all coaches and mentors in the Vocational School on Friday evening at 7:30pm. This is an important meeting for coaches and players, so a full attendance is required.

Tipperary Draw
A gentle reminder that it's time to renew your Tipp Draw membership. Participation in this draw is a vital financial component to the financial aspect of our club.

Social Media
The communications sub committee have launched a new facebook page. This is categorised as a "club" page to satisfy Croke Park regulations. Special thanks to Tom Fogarty, Conor Floyd and Daniel Delaney for their assistance. The page content will grow considerably in the coming weeks. We are also launching a twitter account next week. The ezine circulation list continues to grow. If you wish to be added please contact club PRO John Delaney for any info.
