The Road To Croker Fundraiser in aid of Newport Day Care Centre: Our Senior hurlers completed the second stage of their Road to Croker Fundraiser by completing the round trip from Newport to Semple Stadium last week covering a distance of 92 Kms.  They have two more stages of their run to complete. The third stage this week will be a return trip to Pairc Ui Chaoimh of 232 Kms.  This will be followed by the final stage of the journey with a return trip to Croke Park of 394 Kms. The 'Road to Croker' fundraiser is to raise money for Newport Day Care Centre, a great local organiation that provides day care for the elderly people of Newport, Birdhill, Kilcommon, Rearcross, Ballinahinch, Killoscully and a meeting place where administrators, helpers and the elderly can help one another, with a view to developing a caring community. If you would like to join the senior hurlers and participate in completing walks/runs of your own or with your family,.you can post your photos / videos  on social media with the go fund me link and #newportroadtocroker, and/or you can send a picture to the club PRO on 086 8102691. We will use it to compile a video at the end of each stage.  If you would like to support this very worthy cause log onto the 'Go Fund Me Page' below or you can give your contribution to any of the senior players or executive members. Your support would be really appreciated. https://www.gofundme.com/f/newport-gaa-road-to-croker?utm_

Comhbhrón:  It was with great sadness that the news of the untimely death of Kevin Bourke was received in Newport and the surrounding areas last Wednesday evening. Since his arrival in Newport as a fifteen-year-old, Kevin's outgoing and caring nature endeared him to many, not just among his peers, but also among the wider community. Having lined out with hurling and football teams in Roscrea, he quickly made his mark with his adopted club and went on to win North Tipp championship medals with Newport in Minor Football (2007) and Under 21 football (2010). On behalf of C.L.G. Tulach Sheasta, we extend our deepest sympathies to his mother, Mary, brother, Ruairi, Mary's partner Ger and to the extended Bourke and Barry families.
