Minors: The minor footballers  1st round North Tipp Championship match v Silvermines last Sunday morning was cancelled due to weather conditions. We would like to wish them the best of luck in their the North Football championship match  v Kilruane MacDonaghs  which is due to be played this Sunday in Cloughjordan  @ 11.45 AM.

Scór na bPáistí Parish Final took  place in Birdhill Hall last Saturday evening. We would like to congratulate all the children who took part in all of the competitions and wish the following the best of luck who have qualified to represent Newport in the area final which is due to be held in Newport Community Centre on Sunday March 1st:
Solo Singing : Cormac Troy & Jack Landers;
Ballad Groups : Group 1 of  Cormac Troy, Jack Landers, Darragh Healy, James Long & Andrew Coffey and Group 2 of Freya Jones, Chloe Mc Carthy, Aimee Cusack, Jessica O’Neill & Emily Humphreys.  
Recitation: Tom McCabe & Leah Molloy. 
Instrumental Music: Group 1 of Stephen O’Brien, David Rowland, Liam Coffey, Darragh McGrath & Brian McCabe and Group 2 of Emma Shanahan & Moya McKeogh. 
Quiz Teams : Team 1 of Andrew Coffey, Jack Landers, Cormac Troy & Sarah Clarke. Team 2 of Aimee Cusack, James Long, Hollie Keane & Cillian Healy.

Drug & Alcohol Awareness Evening will take place in St Mary’s Secondary School on Wednesday Feb 26th @ 7:30 PM. Speakers on the night will include John Leahy, Tipperary Hurling Legend, HSE Drug & Alcohol Addiction Counsellor & Garda Padraigh Sutton who has worked in The Garda Drugs Unit for the past 11 years in Limerick. This is open to both adults & children aged 13 years and over. All children under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent / guardian. Donation of € 5 per adult. Children under age 18 are free.

Sympathy: The club wishes to extended our deepest sympathies to Joe Brennan & the extended Brennan family on the recent passing of Joe’s brother Robert Brennan (RIP). Ar dheis Dé go raibh sé.
