Return to training: The club is currently working on a plan to enable our players return to training from June 29th.  The managers of the various teams will be in contact with their teams over the next week to advise players and parents of our Juvenile players of the measures that the club is putting in place to ensure a safe return for all our players.

Under 14’s have been taking part in a North Tipperary "Lockdown League" which comprised of 14 days of physical and skills challenges.  The challenges included Press Ups, Sit Ups, Striking, Kicking, Pick Ups and lots more. We had 24 players submitting videos every day and absolutely poured their hearts into it. Some of the efforts were absolutely amazing - 15-20km runs, nearly collapsing after press-ups or burpees, 4, 5 and 6 hours of attempts at a skill just to get the best score possible. After two weeks of intense competition with all of the clubs from North Tipp taking part, we just about edged out Kilruane to win Division 1. The club would like to sincerely thank Shane Gavin for the huge effort he put in to organising and encouraging the players every day throughout the competition and all the players for the time & effort they put into practising their skills. We would also like to thank Paudie Malone, North Tipp GDA for organising the competition and all the other clubs who took part. It was a great competition to keep all our players practising their skills in these strange times until we all hopefully return to training shortly.

Club Lotto: The weekly club lotto draw will be recommencing shortly.  When we return, we will be offering all of our supporters the option to play our Club Lotto on-line. This option is proving very successful with a lot of clubs around the country. We will have more details next week.

The Road To Croker Fundraiser in aid of Newport Day Care Centre: Our Senior hurlers completed the final stage of their Road to Croker Fundraiser in aid of Newport Day Care Centre by completing the round trip from Newport to Croke Park last week covering a distance of 394 Kms. They have raised over €4,000 to date for The Care Centre which is a great achievement for a very worthy cause. Newport Day Care Centre, a great local organisation that provides a day care for the elderly people of Newport, Birdhill, Kilcommon, Rearcross, Ballinahinch, Killoscully and a meeting place where administrators, helpers, and the elderly can help one another and with a view to developing a caring community.  We would like to sincerely thank all the players who took part & all those who donated so generously. It is really appreciated.   If you would like to support this very worthy cause you can log onto Go Fund Me Page below or you can give your contribution to any of the senior players or executive members.  https://www.gofundme.com/f/newport-gaa-road-to-croker?utm_source=customer&utm_medium=copy_link-tip&utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheetthe
