The chairman Oliver Kennedy welcomed everyone to the evening & thanked them for making the effort to turn out despite the terrible weather. He thanked all the coaches in the club for all the time & effort they give each week in coaching the over 250 children involved in the club. He also thanked our Development Officer James Flanagan for all of the work he has put in developing the excellent facilities that we have available in our club. Special guest on the night Sean O'Brien then made a presentation to all of the players in each group from under 6’s up to under 14’s. The under 11 hurlers were also presented with their North 'A' Plate winners medals & the under 14 Hurlers were presented with their North 'B' Féile Hurling winners medals. The chairman then announced that Niall Duffy was the winner of the Juvenile player of the year award. This was a well deserved award for Niall who has been a true leader both on & off the pitch and has been a member of both  North & County teams from under 14 & is currently a member of the Tipperary Minor Football Panel. The chairman then made a presentation to Sean O'Brien on behalf of the club & congratulated him for his part in helping Tipperary to All Ireland success last year & for all the help he has given to the club in the past. Sympathy: It is with saddened hearts that we learned of the passing of the late Martin Bonfield  R.I.P., husband of Mary, father of  Fiona, Maria, Martina & Eoin.  On behalf of everyone in C.L.G. Tulach Sheasta we extend our deepest sympathy to the Bonfield family on their sad loss. Martin was a  native of Ballinahinch, with whom he won a North Tipp Junior Hurling championship in 1971. On moving to Newport, he became deeply involved in many aspects of community life in his adopted parish, initially with the Athletic Club and later with a host of local organisations. His involvement with Newport GAA Club was wide and varied, acting as selector and manager of numerous under-age and adult teams, serving as Development Officer and Committee member, helping with improvements at Lacken Park and supporting teams of all grades. His family continued Martin's legacy of involvement in the club, daughter Fiona being a former secretary and son Eoin a valued player and team mentor. His presence will be sorely missed.  Ar dheis Lámh Dé go raibh a anam.
