Congratulations: to our under 11’s Community Games hurling team who made history last Saturday by winning the county final in this competition for the first time. They came up against a very strong Ballingarry team. Newport got off to a great start, scoring 2-02 in the first ten minutes. Ballingarry responded with a goal of their own but Newport struck back with 1-01 to lead at half time 3-03 to 1-01.  Ballingarry came back strong in the second half but Newport matched them score for score to run out winners on a scoreline of 5-06 to 3-03. They now go on to represent Newport and Tipperary in the Munster hurling in June/July. Thanks to everyone who came to support on the day. Well done boys on a great achievement.
