Under 12: The Under 12 D hurling championship got underway last Friday as Newport Gold travelled to face Burgess. On a lovely evening for hurling Newport started very well and played some lovely hurling with great passing, catching and shooting. Burgess came strongly into the game towards the end of the first half and into the early stages of the second. However ,just as it looked as if the game was slipping away, Newport dug deep and finished well to come away with a win in a very exciting game. Thanks to Burgess for an enjoyable game and to the parents who came along to support. Newport Gold: Colin Caplis, James Delahunty, Darragh Mackey, Liam Coffey, Dara McGrath, Brian McCabe, Sam Caplis, Aoibheann Collins, Ryan Shinnors, Harry Lee, Tom Ryan, Sean McHugo, Cormac Galvin, Aaron O'Flaherty, Adam Kiely.

Tickets for the bingo are €5 or three for €10.We are also looking for a name for the cow, so when you buy your ticket, suggest a name and the winner will receive a fabulous club top.

Table Quiz: A fundraising event will take place at Ryan’s bar on June 16th in aid of The Kevin Bell Repatriation Fund., in memory of the late Cillian Ryan R.I.P. With so many of us having family and friends overseas, it is comforting to know that in a time of crisis this organisation, with its expertise and diplomatic contacts, is there to help and this event is worthy of our support.

The very best of luck to Sean O’ Brien and the Tipperary hurlers this Sunday in Semple Stadium v Clare.
