Under 21 Hurling:  Newport played Ballinahinch /Templederry in the North U21 Championship in Dolla on Saturday. Newport started brightly with a point by Mikey Gorman and led 4 points to 2 after 15 minutes. Newport continued to pick off the points from Darragh Carroll and Jack Delahunty and raced into a 12 points to 5 lead. Ballinahinch /Templederry scored a goal before half time to leave the score 12 points to 1.5. Newport started the second half brightly and continued to keep the scoreboard ticking over. Both sides exchanged points before Cian Flanagan raced through the defence to lob the keeper and push the lead out further. Colin Floyd added a point as Newport ran out winners 1-19 to 1-9.

Sympathy:  Sympathy is extended to the McEvoy and Nolan families on the recent death of Senan McEvoy of Killaloe and formerly of Birdhill. Senan wore the Newport jersey in Under 21 and Junior Football in the early 1970's.
The Club would also like to extend sympathy to Siobhan, Pauric, Dara, Ailin and Oisin Kennedy and all the Whelan family on the recent death of Matt Whelan, Gardenhill. Ar dheis Lámh Dé go raibh a anam.

Newport GAA Club History:  The closing date for those wishing to become Patrons of the new edition of Newport GAA Club History has been extended to 30th of November 2018 as the book will be launched in early 2019. Anyone wishing to become a patron, should contact James Collins (Club Chairman), Majella Coffey (Secretary) or Martin Kennedy (Treasurer). We would also like to hear from any business or individual who might be interested in becoming the sole sponsor of the book.

Tulach Sheasta A.G.M.:  The Club A.G.M. will take place on Wednesday 5th of December 2018 at 8pm in the Clubrooms.
