Tipperary Person of the Year: Heartiest congratulations to our Irish Language and Cultural Officer Denis Floyd who was chosen as Tipperary Person of the Year. This is an accolade that Denis richly deserves. His contribution to our club and County continues to be immense and we are so grateful for his advice, wisdom and encouragement.  Denis has enhanced the lives of all in the Parish, through his enormous involvement in Tidy Towns Birdhill. The village looks resplendent and environmentally very friendly and this is in no small way, due to the hard work and leadership of Denis. We are so proud and delighted for Denis and his family.

Hall of Fame: The club is delighted that Denis Ryan of Ryan’s fancy will be entered into the Hall of fame for his contribution to Irish folk music. Well done Denis.

Scór na bPaisti: All roads lead to the Birdhill Community Centre on Sunday the 4th of February at 3pm for the Parish Final of Scór na bPaisti. This promises to be a very entertaining afternoon with preparations ongoing amongst the local National School children. Two representatives in each competition will go forward to the Area Final in Borrisoleigh on Sunday the 25th of February.

Senior Scór: Newport has been confirmed as the venue for the County Senior Scór Final on
Saturday the 24th of February. It would be great for the Club to be represented in as many acts as possible and try to replicate last year’s success.

Juvenile Registration: Will take place in the clubrooms on Tuesday February 13th from 6.30pm.

Development: The club is almost ready to start the next phase of our development and in order to do this we are looking for twenty-five individuals to give us an interest free loan of €1,000. The loan will be paid back no later than twenty-five months from start. The twenty-five names will only be known to three people and each month they will draw one of the names out and the named individual will receive back their €1,000. We believe this is our best option of completing the work without incurring huge interest charges. If you feel you are in a position to help, please contact the club treasurer Martin Kennedy in confidence at 086-1970583.

Sympathy: The club extends deepest sympathy to our development officer James Flanagan and the Flanagan family on the recent death of his father Paddy R.I.P. Ar dheis lámh Dé go raibh a anam.
