Newport GAA Club History:  By The Mulcaire Banks', published in 1986, outlined the first hundred years of the GAA in the parish of Newport. The history has now been updated to 2017 and will be available for publication before the end of this year. In actual fact the whole history from 1885 to 2017 will be published in one book of over 1,000 pages and selling at €40 per hardback copy. To help defray the costs of the publication, we are inviting members of the community to be associated with the book by becoming a patron. For a fee of €100, patrons will have their name included in the book for posterity, be invited to a reception for the launch and receive a signed copy. Anyone wishing to become a patron and be part of the GAA story in Newport, should contact James Collins (Club Chairman), Majella Coffey (Secretary) or Martin Kennedy (Treasurer) before 31st October. We would also like to hear from any business or individual who might be interested in becoming the sole sponsor of the book.
