Intermediate Hurling:
Newport Intermediate Hurlers will play Kilsheelan-Kilcash in Round 2 of the County Championship this Sunday at 11.30am in Annacarty.

Junior Hurling:
Well done to the Junior Hurlers who beat Ballinahinch 1-17 to 0-10 in the first round of the North League last Saturday in Shalee.

Under 21 Football:
Our u21 footballers lost on a score line of 3-14 to 3-04 to Clonmel Commercials in the U21 ‘A’ County Semi Final on Monday Bank Holiday. A much improved 2
nd half performance was not enough for Newport as the lack of match practice seemed to be  a factor, this being their first game of the year having not played any game in the North Division.

Under 12 Football:
Newport Colts played Ballinahinch in the U12C North Football Final on Saturday last in Portroe. After a very evenly contested match Newport won by 3 points.  Great credit is due to both teams for a very entertaining match. Well done to Newport who dug deep to win the match. A special thanks to the mentors also for coaching the team.

Under 8:
The U8's had a very enjoyable blitz in Ballina on Saturday last. Newport had two teams who played Ballina in Hurling and Gaelic Football.

Cake Sale:
The Juvenile GAA Club and Newport-Ballinahinch Camogie Club will be holding a Cake Sale in the Clubhouse in Lacken Park on Tuesday May 10th at 7pm to raise funds for the U14 Hurlers and Camogie Players who are taking part in The All Ireland U14 Feile competitions this June. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

Poker Classic:
A big thanks to everyone who supported our Poker Classic held last Sunday in O’ Sullivans Bar, Newport. We had 49 players in all.

Best of Luck:
Cian Flanagan plays with the Tipperary Minors this Wednesday as they take on Clare. We wish him the best of luck.

Well done to Keely Lenihan, Amy Quigley, Caroline and Bill Mullaney on their All Ireland success with the Tipperary minor camogie team last weekend.
