Under 21 Hurling: Our U21 hurlers were beaten comprehensively by Kilruane MacDonaghs last Sunday in Moneygall in the North Quarter Final on a scoreline of 2-17 to 0-13. After a good start to the first half, a goal from Kilruane just before half time proved to be the start of a downfall for Newport as they were unable to curtail or match Kilruane's scoring ability in the second half. The loss concluded Newport's championship involvement in all grades for 2016.

Scór na nÓg: Congrats to young Martin McCabe on his great win in the Recitation competition in the North Final of Scór na nÓg held in Birdhill Hall last Friday night. This was Martin's first time competing at this level and he saw off stiff competition from the Portroe, Borrisoleigh and Templederry competitors. He will now go on to represent the North Division in the County Final in Cashel on Friday the 2nd of December. Our Set Dancers were unlucky to lose out to a strong Borrisoleigh team.
Preparations should now be getting underway for the Senior Scór and Scór na bPáistí competitions.

Annual General Meeting: The A.G.M. will take place on December 9th in the club rooms at 8 p.m.
Mass for our deceased members will be celebrated in Newport Church on Saturday November 26th at 6.30pm.
