Intermediate Hurling:  Our Intermediate Hurlers will play the first round of the county championship vs Drom-Inch this Sunday April 24th at 6.30pm in Templederry. We encourage all club members to come and support the players as they embark on getting their 2016 campaign off to a good start.

Under 14 Footballers:
Our U14 B Footballers played Lorrha Rovers on Wednesday last April 13th. Newport had a depleted team as a result of school tour and other fixtures. The 1st half was dominated by Lorrha Rovers and, although Newport improved their performance in the second half,  Lorrha Rovers were convincing winners in the end. They will play Moneygall/Clonakenny on Wednesday April 20th at 6.30pm in Lacken Park.

Under 12 Football:
Newport Dynamos travelled to Moneygall to play the quarter final of the U12 football. Newport started brightly but kicked 3 bad wides and Moneygall broke up the field and scored 3 goals to lead at half time. Early in the second half Moneygall scored 3 points but then Newport rallied and a great leap by Darragh Meaney to flick home a goal was followed by a brilliant individual effort by Eoghan McMahon to reduce the deficit to 2 scores. Newport were camped in the Moneygall half for the last 10 minutes but could not get the scores to equalise. This was a very spirited performance by Newport Dynamos with the majority of players underage for next year. Team: Christopher Egan, Eoghan Browne, Mark Forde, Damien O Brien, Cillian Collins, Cillian Finucane, Aideen McGlinchey, Robbie Murray, Cathal Colgan, Sean McHugo, Eoghan McMahon, Senan Ryan, Darragh Meaney and Brian Nolan.
The U12 Newport Colts Footballers will play Shannon Rovers in the North Semi Final on Thursday April 21st at 6.30pm in Lacken Park.

Table Quiz:
Thanks to all who supported the Juvenile Table Quiz last weekend in Coopers’ Bar.  A special thanks to Dinny & Fiona Ryan Cooper for hosting and sponsoring First Prize and to Tom McGlinchey for setting the questions and being MC on the night.

Poker Classic:
The club will hold its 2nd Poker Classic (5 Card Poker) on Sunday May 1st 2016 at 6pm in O’Sullivans Bar, Newport. This event was a great success last year and all are welcome. Tickets can be purchased from any committee member at €20.
