Intermediate Hurling

Well done to our Intermediate team who have reached the County Final after beating Lattin Gaels last Saturday in Dundrum on a score line of 2-22 to 1-12. Please see match report. We ask  parishioners to display the Newport colours leading up to the match and to come out and support the lads as they play Thurles Sarsfields on Sunday in Dundrum at 2.30pm. They are bidding to bridge a 14 year gap since the last County Intermediate title was won in 2002, We last contested the County intermediate final in 2008, but lost to Templederry. We wish the players and management team the best of luck and hope that all their hard work will pay off on Sunday!

Under 8
The U8's played the U10
Camogie girls for a bit of fun in Lacken Park on Saturday morning in an end of year blitz for the Camogie girls. We had 2 teams of boys and girls and they played 20 minutes a side. It was all very official with Jimmy Joe and Frank Troy refereeing the games. Some lovely hurling was played and there was no holding back from the boys and girls. A very enjoyable morning was had by all. The teams were presented with medals after the blitz and there was lots of refreshments and home baking in the clubhouse afterwards. Thanks to all the parents for providing the wonderful display of food
