Inter-county:  Congrats to Cian Flanagan and
the rest of the Tipp Minor Hurling team on a fantastic victory over Galway in the All Ireland semi-final on Sunday. It makes for an interesting All Ireland Final versus Limerick with Newport having a player in both camps as Darragh Carroll is with the Limerick squad

Junior Hurling: Well done to the Junior Hurlers who defeated Templederry in the North Championship on a score line of 1-21 to 0-10. They have now qualified for the knock-out stages of the championship. Meanwhile, they will play the delayed North League Final against Portroe on this Saturday at 7pm in Ballina.

Minor Hurling: We play Borrisoleigh in a must-win last round game this Wednesday evening in Templederry.

Under 12: The two U12 teams took part in the North Hurling Finals held in Portroe on Saturday last. It was a huge occasion for the players and a very proud day for the Newport Club. The U12D team were beaten by Roscrea who proved to be the  better team on the day.  Newport showed great spirit and fought to the very end. The game finished on a final score of 2-6 to 2-0. A huge thanks to the manager Padraig Kennedy and his mentors who trained and encouraged the kids all year.
Hard luck also  to the U12B team.  Moneygall were the stronger team and finished on a score line of 4-6 to 1-5. A special thanks to the manager Diarmuid Collins and his management team for all their hard work during the year. Thanks to all the supporters for cheering on Newport in the two games.

Under 14: The U14's played Lorrha/ Shannon Rovers  in the North Quarter final on Wednesday evening last. Newport bowed out of the championship after a heavy defeat.

Under 16: The U16's played Borrisokane last week and won by 3 points. They have a bye in the next round.
