The AGM reconvened
on Friday last when Dinny Ryan (Cooper) was appointed Intermediate Hurling manager for 2016 with selectors Mark Harrington and Ian Mellerick, whilst Martin Maher (Borrisileigh) was confirmed and welcomed as the new coach for the season.
Eoin Bonfield was appointed Junior Hurling and Football manager with John O’Mahony, Paddy Brennan and Seamus Carew as selectors.
Paddy Brennan was appointed Under 21 manager with John O’Mahony, Trevor Delahunty, James Flanagan, and Seamus Carew as selectors

Juvenile Presentation Evening: will be held on Sunday January 24th in the Community Centre at 6pm.

National Draw: Tickets for the National Draw are on sale from any player or Committee Member at €10 per ticket and great prizes to be won such as a car and lots of holidays. Closing Date is early February.

Minor Football: Our Minor Footballers, Newport Gaels bowed out of the County 'A' Football Championship at the Semi Final stage, with defeat to Drom & Inch, in a nail biting contest in Newport last Saturday. Final Score Drom & Inch 0-17 Newport Gaels 2-9. See match repprt. Unfortunately the fragmented nature of the championship did not help our cause as this was our first football match since winning the North title on the 6th of May!!!

Lotto: Our Lotto stands at €1600 and tickets can be bought from local shops or any commitee member.

Handball: Congratulations to Devlin Courtney (Newport) on winning the North Tipperary U16 singles final,beatingConnor Bourke (Ballina). Barry O’Meara and Mikey Ryan have progressed to the Munster semi-finals in the U17 Doubles and they will betaken place in February. John Ryan and Oisin Kennedy werebeaten in the North TipperaryU13 Doubles final. Memberships for 2016are now being accepted by all club officers and new members are always welcome to train in Newport College courts on Tuesdays and Friday evenings from 4.30pm to 6.00pm.
